Why should I buy an eco friendly car ?

I have been hearing a lot about eco friendly cars and what an individual should do to save it or should do in trying to save it, one solution that has been found by a lot of people is to discourage people from buying gas guzzlers, SUVs and muscle cars. I have grown up without seeing dinosaur’s, walrus’s or for that matter many more things in life that existed few years or decades or centuries back. And I have learnt to live like this .Why should we bother to save oil or for that matter tigers which are almost extinct right now. Why are we spending hundreds of millions of dollars on a lost cause? Why should we meddle with the way of life? Dinosaurs became extinct because of something that happened on earth millions of years back, same is the case with mammoths or walrus’s. No external forces resulted in the above outcomes. Now why should we save something that is not supposed to exist in a few years in the first place. Who knows by saving one species we are indirectly destroying another. We are part of Nature and what we do is part of nature ,just like the ice age that occurred centuries back or the cyclones that destroy life now a days. You may say it’s because of Man’s greed that nature is feeling the grunt of the effects but isn’t Man a part of nature, isn’t his greed part of his nature. Who are we to revoke this right of his? Oil may exist for few more years or it won’t .Its fate has to be naturally decided without any intervention led by considering future aspects. Tigers as a race will survive or they will perish, we cannot and should not alter this because by doing this we don’t know what we might cause in the future and therefore we should let nature take its course of action. There is no reason to alter the nature’s way therefore there is no reason why we should judge people on the choices that they make with respect to nature.

Chevrolet Cruze will be the global name for an all-new sedan from the next generation of General Motors’ compact car family. Actually the cruze badge is not an all new one, Cruze was last applied to GM’s first Japan built compact SUV in association with Suzuki. The growing clamor for small cars might have tempted the GM to christen it latest C-segment car as Cruze.

1) Chevrolet Cruze: Cruze will be the first vehicle to build on GM’s new Global Compact Vehicle Architecture or Delta 2 platform. Delta 2 is said to be designed with developing market in mind and is considered to be the lower-cost alternative to the current Delta platform. The Cruze was engineered at GM’s German development center and was designed in Korea by GM Daewoo. Cruze will be assembled in plants around the world. Chevrolet introduced the optra in 2003. Even after four years of launch the car is yet to make a mark in India. Optra struggled against the competetion and in 2007 GM introduced the new optra magnum with 2.0L diesel engine which sells in decent numbers. Coming back to the new Cruze, the car will usher in a new styling language for Chevrolet. Cruze will carry Chevrolet’s new design language, including the two separate front grills and golden bow-tie logo.

Automakers are leaving no stone unturned these days to make a buck or in Audi’s case, a Euro or two. The German company is getting ready to enter a new niche segment with the presentation of the A4 Allroad Quattro, a crossover version of its latest A4 Avant that will compete head on with the new Saab 9-3X, and in some ways act as an alternative proposal to compact SUV’s like its own Q5 and the BMW X5. Audi will initially offer a gasoline engine and two diesel engines for the A4 Allroad Quattro that will hit European dealerships early this summer at a basic price of €37,100.
Aside from the standard quattro all-wheel drive system, Audi’s engineers widened the A4 Avant’s front and rear tracks by 20mm (0.79-in.) while the body is higher on account of a new chassis with longer springs - though Audi did not say how high. Furthermore, the Allroad is equipped with Audi’s Offroad Detection (ORD) technology that senses the type of driving surface and adjusts the ESP’s control parameters accordingly. The car sits on 17-inch alloys shod in 225/55 tires. There will be a debut in Geneva this coming March which plans for entering North American market.
